All of my photos ended up just being of the back of my coat for the most part. In fairness, it’s my favorite part. Just wish photos captured all the sparkles from the beads.

PSA – Archive of Our Own

Okay, I know that a good majority of us read fanfic. And AO3 is quite popular, I love that site.

I recently just came across a site on my laptop while I was looking some klance fics to read. I found one and clicked on the link which said it was an AO3 fanfic. Norton Security prevented me from accessing the site because it ‘may be impersonating AO3 to steal your personal or financial information’

If you find a link to a fanfic and it has ‘www.archiveofourown.com’ run for the hills. The true AO3 is .org not .com. It may seem obvious but it’s pretty easy to miss. Just letting all my fellow fanfic addicts out there know that there is a scammer.

I’m trying to tag all the fandoms I’m in so that those people are aware.

What kind of person impersonates a well known fanfic site to steal information. Such a heinous crime. I will admit, this person was pretty smart. All kinds of people read fanfics, especially teenagers. Just think of that and how easy it would be.

Please reblog to every fandom and if you find any other fanfic sites being impersonated please add them to this post. Some of us fanfic readers are close to being adults or are already adults, but there are still twelve year olds and younger who don’t pay attention to things they find on the internet.

I’m not against adoption but it’s quite idiotic of a lot of you to not know that you should be adequately equipped to raise your adopted child/ren that are different than you in some capacity. Just because you’re a white gay couple doesn’t mean you are equipped to know how to raise children of color. A lot of people are not equipped to raise disabled children, either. It has been repeatedly documented that white couples, gay or otherwise, abuse, neglect, and kill their adopted children of color. Additionally I think these white couples often do not account for the difficulties their adopted children of color may experience if kept away from their respective people/s/culture/s.

While this is not necessarily an equivalent comparative, I know adopted children that found out later in life that they were Jewish and were severely negatively impacted because they had been kept away from their culture, stripped of a connection to their heritage, and were not raised Jewishly. There’s also a history of Christians and Catholics stealing Jewish babies with the intention to raise them as Christians and intentionally strip them of their connection to their culture and heritage.

Forced adoption continues today as we have heard in the cases of Guatemalan children taken away from their mothers. Adoption can be a force of violence. Adoption can be damaging to the children adopted even if parents are equipped to take care of the children they adopt. Adopting a child is a very serious decision and I honestly don’t think especially white gay people consider that the needs of their adopted children, especially if they are children of color, outweigh whatever desire they have to simply have a child.

my favorite davids, ranked

lovelyladylunacy:

here’s a definitive and totally subjective rating of davids

image

donatello: 3/10
honestly pretty embarrassing, but worth a mention. just your run-of-the-mill, oh-you-haven’t-heard-we’re-copying-classical-greek-sculpture-now david. stiff, awkward, and pretty dopey looking twunk. has the same expression of someone being told dona-fucking-tello sculpted this. can’t even hold his slingshot bc it’s too gay. don’t worry there’s a redemption arc on its way.

image

donatello pt 2: 9/10
fucking superb you funky little gay man. total glow up. a complete deviation from the norm by a well-known deviant. takes contrapposto to sultry new heights. look at this lad’s little hat and boots he’s not a nude he’s just naked. some people say goliath’s head is modeled off of donatello himself literally he was horny enough he said “step on me” in full fucking bronze. goliath’s helmet has little gay greek reliefs on it, not even remotely subtle. look at the feather going up his thigh and tell me u didn’t cross your legs when you did. commissioned by the medici for their palace, which makes it even cooler by association.

image

verocchio: 8/10 ily baby
a perfectly fine lad, looking at him makes me smile. his little dress is so cute with its stylized arabic psuedo-script border, and the floral pasties? adorable. something about goliath’s head feels a little disjointed, but you know what? fuck him. he’s not important. david’s the real star here in his little cheerleader get up. what really makes me biased towards this one is that the model was supposedly verocchio’s star student, the young leonardo da vinci. and look how fucking radiant he is! love it.

image

michelangelo: 7/10
technically this thing’s great. look at the fucking veins on the hand that’s absolutely mental. but all in all it lacks the overtly homosexual intrigue of some other davids and, frankly, i expected more from well-documented gay disaster michelangelo. obviously a classic but also makes it prone to being too over-saturated. i do love his yaoi hands though.

image

bernini: 11/10
the man the myth the fucking legend! bernini always delivers and this david’s no expception. look at that movement! the drama! the whole thing screams baroque in the best possible way with the dynamism, the momentary narrative, that cute lil scrunched up face. only complaint is that it isn’t as good as some of bernini’s other work but i’m willing to let it go for the detailing on the fucking rope goddamn gian lorenzo you absolute madman. we stan a sculpting legend.
