Look, there’s a lot of parts of trans that are scary, especially if you’re still young or just getting on your feet, but please don’t think that’s all there is to it. There’s so much more than the fear, the insecurity, and the stigma that society slaps in our faces from day 1 and before.

Do you know what it is? Do you want to know what else trans is?

Trans is hanging out in the living room with the puppy on a Sunday afternoon, wearing just your bra and shorts because it’s 85 degrees outside and the air is full of steam from the rain of the past few days.

Trans is playing indoor fetch with your puppy who loves bringing you things but still hasn’t quite figured out how to let go of them.

Trans is getting random pictures from your fiance, who’s hanging out with his D&D group until tonight.

Trans is a round of reruns of your favorite dumb shows on the TV.

Trans is realizing that in spite of the fear, the insecurity, and the stigma, staying true to yourself was the best damn decision you ever made and stuck with.

Trans is living.

It gets better. Hang in there. I love you. 💚

Hey its national coming our day, the world is a scary place, my fiance is now my husband and our dumb smelly breath puppy daughter is almost a year old.

More than ever, I feel like we need to share the message that even when life seems bleak, we all carry a spark that can light up our lives and others.

Happy, if somber, coming out day for those of us who are safe to observe it. For all of you, and especially those who aren’t yet where they can flourish, please never forget that it can always get better

Spread the message like wildfire, and let’s all share our sparks to turn the message into actions. I believe in you so so much. #nationalcomingoutday2018 #itgetsbetter
