Seriously, the Critical Role
fandom needs to stop freaking out and arguing over every little bit
of drama. I respect that you can enjoy the game the way you want, and
if analysis and discourse is enjoyable for you, then go ahead and
have at it. But when it escalates to yelling at actors for decisions
their deeply flawed characters made in the heat of the moment
on an improv show partially ruled by rolls of the dice, I am sorry
but I am going to take issue with this behaviour. The Critical Role cast play this
game for their entertainment as well as ours. They have stated many,
many times that they enjoy exploring complicated character
dynamics, which often include less than optimal decisions and
emotionally charged scenes. If you take issue with how they play to
the point of frustration and anger, please just stop watching. You
cannot tell someone their fun is wrong if it’s not hurting anyone.Be kind. Be respectful. Be patient. If
you have a problem with someone in the cast that you believe needs to
be addressed, take it up with them politely. If you feel a
story element is problematic, perhaps avoid a knee-jerk reaction and
take time to reflect before confronting someone about it. Use
empathy. Treat people like human beings. Please and thank you.
