This was on another post but are where was the protest with Kate? Are we 100% sure this isn’t because Meghan isn’t white?

Hey guys, so I’m actually from Liverpool and this sort of protest happens a lot, including at William and Kate’s wedding. We’re one of the most left wing cities in the UK and extremely anti-royal for the most part. But this sort of thing is less about the wedding itself, and certainly not about Meghan and Harry as people, it’s about the fact that so much is being spent on this wedding, while the rest of us are living under austerity.

Liverpool is the food bank capital of the UK. Working people can’t afford to eat. And yet simply because of the can’t they were born into, the royal get THIS. Plus the fact that the homeless are being driven out of Windsor just seems so insidiously wrong that we have every right to protest it.

I really can’t understand why what is essentially a fundraiser for a very good cause is being criticised so heavily. We have every right to protest- we’re the ones being hit by this
