Since I’m not as active on here anymore, I might have reacted too quickly and too negatively to the changes, so here’s a little all-clear:

As of today tumblr started to conform to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (source), in which companies have to make sure that their costumers have more rights over the individual-related/private data those companies collect about them online. This law is already in force since a few years, but only up from May 25th 2018 there will be serious consequences (as in painfully high fines for companies). So this is why you should see even more changes in the upcoming week.

If you try to access a blog directly today, you’ll get redirected to tumblr’s error page (“There’s nothing here”) and this link in your address bar:

It takes a while until you can’t even access your dashboard anymore – They’ll redirect you to a full-page site starting with:

As soon as you click “OK” everything is back to “normal” 😉
