tenderlesbian:

and doesn’t it just make you more livid that songs written by straight women and/or men that trivialize wlw always get great radio play and become very popular, but yet you almost never hear actual wlw or lesbian artists on the radio??

‘i kissed a girl’ by katy perry is one of her most popular and best-selling songs to date and got amazing radio play at the time, and i have no doubt ‘girls’ is going to get radio play and become popular, but wlw artists who write songs that don’t make us look like jokes or sexual consumption for men almost never get any support unless its by other wlw

the general public bends over backwards to act like songs like ‘i kissed a girl’ and ‘girls’ are Gay Anthems but never express the same attitude or support for ACTUAL lesbian/wlw songs to the point where lesbian/wlw artists struggle to make a living out of their writing/singing career. honestly fuck this lol
