anyway attack on titan is nazi propaganda and i dont trust ppl who like it, and as a Jew™ and general decent person i have the fucking right to say i hate snk and fans of it on my own blog

also hetalia (i dont feel the need to link a source for that one since it is literally called axis powers hetalia and one of the main characters is a personification of nazi germany)

hi there, i hope its okay that i add onto this! i am a korean jew and i think its important to state that attack on titan also glorifies japans history of oppressing korea. the source emma provided also goes further into detail about this if anyone wants to know more

tysm for this post because snk makes me so uncomfortable, and not a lot of people realize what it is

Attack on Titan’s author believes in eugenics and thinks Korean people aren’t even human; I can’t ever understand why someone would want to support the work of a guy like this

the post linked in the first part was deleted – here’s an archived version of it

I don’t hate people who love SnK, because this ISN’T as well-known as it should be. (See that one comic about “you’re one of today’s lucky ten thousand.”) Hell, I’ve seen people who find this out, and then they’re heartbroken because before they knew, some character from the show really resonated with them. As a Jew who can’t help loving Roald Dahl’s stories, I understand that feeling–at the risk of sounding flippant, that feeling is big fucking mood. And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying “I don’t want to support those sentiments at all but this thing MEANT something to me.” We all have stuff like that! Ask people who are fans of Pirates of the Caribbean but can’t stand Johnny Depp, or who found themselves in tears because of the dark truth behind The Cosby Show. People who claim they have never had this problem are either very young, or lying.

With that said, I have a DEEP and abiding distrust for people who say “yeah, whatever, I like it anyway” or “I don’t believe that even though it’s well-documented.” I’m not going to tell you to stop liking the thing. I’d just like to know that what you take from it isn’t “Nazis are cool and fuck Jews and Koreans,” because that’s NOT okay.
