wow i just realized that molly took care of caleb when he went catatonic because he remembered what it felt like to feel empty and horrified by memories of the past (in molly’s case: a lack of) and did what the circus did for him in terms of getting him out of that dark headspace: gentle affection and a constant reminder to return to the present… mmm boi i die!!!!!
