I’m pretty sure Fjord drowned at some point and was saved by his deity.

When Caleb gives him the water armor that lets you move freely through water snd breathe in it, he quietly says “wish I had it before” and I’m pretry sure that was Travis sneaking in backstory.

I really am growing more and more confident in my theory that he nearly drowned after a shipwreck in the Shearing Channel. The Tal’Dorei campaign guide has a tiny, but interesting section on the Shearing Channel and an adventure about a monster that came from the residue of the Chained Oblivion’s power living in its depths. Perhaps that god-powered monster is Fjord’s mysterious patron.

Oh I like that! I don’t have the Tal’Dorei guide but that sounds very accurate and close to my own theories!
