They are trying to ruin his character so hard like how dare Lebron help Black kids get a decent education and go to college for free…🙄🙄
8 million….You mean what they already pay? Since he’s covering all the auxilary costs while it’s being treated as just another building, it’s just being folded in as the 33rd school of the district. Taxes won’t change at all.
^^^^^^^^^
It’s a fucking SCHOOL, not a football arena. It’s not something of questionable use and value. It’s. A. Fucking. School.
He just paid for part of a school, a bunch of these people aren’t even for privatisation of schools but they will still act like they are mad about this.
I live down the street from this school. The building already existed, and used to be a CLC (what Akron calls their public elementary schools). Now, with LeBron James’ funding, it is going to do a lot more than a standard public elementary school in Akron can do. It’s not costing us taxpayers any more money, and it’s a really good thing. I have not heard a single Akron resident upset about the I Promise school, so I really get annoyed at all these people that don’t know the first thing about Akron trying to shit all over this. There is nothing bad about the I Promise school, and there is a lot of good about it.

According to Matt’s twitter, the Mighty Nein are now level 6! Let’s see what new abilities they get:
Jester: Can now turn invisible pretty much at will for one round. I’m super excited to see what Laura does with this.
Fjord: Can now command the spirit of a humanoid he kills to follow him like a specter and attack for him (lasts until the next long rest). This is super freaky, and I’m excited to see Travis RP with it – I can’t imagine Fjord is gonna be calm about this weirdness.
Nott: Gets to add “expertise” and double her proficiency bonus on two more skills. Hopefully she picks lock-picking.
Caleb: Transmuter’s stone! We saw Liam RP him trying to make this. It’s a super cool item that gives him either darkvision, a speed increase, proficiency in Con. saves, or resistance to some damage types. He can change what it does any time he casts a transmutation spell.
Yasha: Can now reroll any saving throw if she fails it while raging. This is gonna be super clutch.
Caduceus: Can now, 5 times per long rest (his wisdom modifier) negate any critical hit on himself or an ally so it becomes a normal hit. THIS IS AWESOME.
Beau: Her unarmed attacks now count as “magical” (ki-empowered) and she can also basically punch someone into telling her the truth (”Extort Truth”) – since she can choose to have that do no damage, can you imagine the drama if she felt it necessary to use on someone in the party? I’m here for it.

look i’m not saying that children shouldn’t be allowed to play video games or anything like that but the fact that kids as young as EIGHT are using misogynistic, homophobic and racial slurs in casual conversations because they heard their favorite streamer or opponent on a video game say it is something that urgently needs addressing
This has nothing to do with a video game, it has to do with parenting. Parents should be teaching their children what is/isn’t an appropriate word to say. I grew up playing video games and listening to music full of words/phrases that shouldn’t be used, but my parents taught me and my siblings what words we shouldn’t use. They also didn’t say things like “because they’re inappropriate” or “because that’s a bad word”, they’d explain why it’s wrong to use. It’s the same thing with the “video games cause violence” argument. It’s not the game, it’s the parenting.
I mean although this is a fair critique of parenting acting like twitch streamers are completely innocent is just dishonest. The media you consume affects what you think is okay and a kid seeing someone they like saying slurs is going to start thinking slurs are okay to say no matter what their parents have said
